| Michael on a bike on Kho Tao |
Well, this is the shittest day I ever had in a long long time. Grant & Mike both got one of those big wheel motorcycles, so I was going to join them to go to the north shore of Kho Pha Ngan island to go snorkeling. I rented a semi-automatic moped and off we went.
Not more than 5 minutes later, on a very steep hill where the road was only made of gravels, I wiped out on the way down. I put the breaks on but didn't realize they were the front breaks, so the back wheel spun out to my right and the bike fell on me on the left.

| Me getting tended to - It looks worse than the photo. |
I tore up my knee pretty bad - to the bone and had to get some stitches. A big scratch on my arm too and a few minor scratches all along my left side where it wasn't covered by cloths. I was the only one wearing a helmet but that didn't help. After 2 freakin' years of being accident free in Bermuda, I wipe out on this freakin island. I'm more embarrassed about it than anything else.
Grant and Mike were pretty nice and they stayed with me through the whole hospital ordeal, even though they both had big silly grins on their faces while watching me getting stitched up. I could walk - but I wanted it to heal so I'm not going to be too active. The nurse gave me some antibiotics and painkillers so hopefully that'll help me through.
I went to the full moon party on the 5th anyway. That's the day when I started feeling very nauseated and feverish. I think it's partly due to the accident and partly due to the anti-biotic I was taking.
The full moon party was just one huge party on a long stretch of beach sheltered by a calm bay. People pretty much just walk around from bar to bar, stall to stall, either eat, drink, dance, or veg out. It's a nice partying atmosphere but I wasn't in the mood so I didn't enjoy it as much. The taxi ride back was horrible too since they made us wait til the bus is full before leaving.
