July 2, 2001 - Monday - Kho Phi Phi to Kho Pha Ngan, Thailand

We're finally off to another place! We boarded the ferry and reached Krabi at about 10:30AM, then switched to a bus and headed to Surat Thani, on the east coast of Thailand. I slept through most of the ride but was awake enough to notice the more frequent bamboo and coconut trees growing in the countryside.
We got to Surat Thai at about 3 and waited until 3:30 for our bus. After checking email and getting some money, the bus took us to the dock and we arrived at 4:00. There were hawkers here already selling accommodations and not enough food to go around at the restaurant. I bought some Longyang (Asian fruit translated as "dragon's eyes") at the food stall and a chicken leg before getting on the ferry.
We finally arrived in Kho Pha Ngan and after a ride through some dodgy road, we checked into our small room and had a nice dinner at a semi outdoors restaurant. It was right next to the beach and actually was pretty nice with silhouettes of palm trees against a moon lit ocean. Grant couldn't enjoy much of it because he's been complaining about not feeling well with fevers and chills.
July 3, 2001 - Tuesday - Kho Pha Ngan, Thailand
Didn't do much today - basically just walked around the area. I was tired by the end and had to go back for a nap. They showed Tomb Raider again at the restaurant and some people were trying to watch it but there was a table with 2 very loud North American bitches who used the word "like" after every 2 words. "Like, if I, Like, take this card, like, can I, like take the other card?"
They went on and on and if I was really watching the movie, I would've gone over there and gave them a big smack in their faces. Anyway, not much for today. Grant still wasn't feeling too well, but getting better.
