After breakfast, Michael, Dirk and I hiked to the lagoon and lookout. We went up one of the steepest mountainside I've ever climbed which required many hand holes and ropes. I was glad I was strong enough for it. We went to a lookout first and looked around before heading to the lagoon.

The lookout has a dramatic sweeping view of the eastern and western Rai Lay beach and all the bungalows. We continued through some very tricky and slippery cliff face down to the lagoon. A deep dark crevice opened up to a stagnant-looking dark green lagoon. I wasn't too impressed with it because I was hoping the lagoon would be a little livelier.

Everyone went for a swim including a German guy named Jonas that we met down there. Michael and Jonas went exploring caves for a while before we headed back up again. We went to eat at Co Co's, to Michael's delight for lunch. It wasn't too bad but the Pad Thai had a little too much fish sauce to it that made it taste too salty and sweet. We went to the Phan Yang Beach after that to explore some of the caves around there and then to another cave at another outcrop. There wasn't really anything spectacular there and after it got dark, we finally explore enough caves and lookout and headed back to the hotel.

| One of the monkies got really close to me. |
I hung out for a little bit with Jonas, Michael, and Jenny - the American Christie Brinkley look-alike, and then left them to wander off to the northern beach again. On the way there, I saw a troop of monkeys foraging for food, and took a few pictures.
It was low tide and I was able to walk to the two nearby rock islands. There weren't too many interesting things in the tidal pools so I headed back and joined Grant and Dirk for dinner. Michael wanted to stay here to climb some more. Grant, Dirk, and I were getting a bit bored here because of the crappy beaches so we decided to leave Michael on the mainland and go explore the island of Kho Phi Phi first.
