Primo and Ronnie being silly - Queensland, Australia
I decided to head north today with Primo and Ronnie in their van instead. I think it was long over due to get away from Joerg. After bidding a fond farewell to Matt, Sandra, and Jens, I headed toward Primo and Ronnie's cabin. Off we went in the orange van and it felt good to be with a different group of people again. We just pretty much headed up north nonstop through rain and stopped by roadside to eat some lunch. We continued until we got to a rest stop north of Hitchinson Islands and camped in the van for the night.

Me and Primo being silly - Queensland, Australia
Ronnie made a pretty nice pasta dish while Primo ate some crackers and tuna because he thought he was getting too fat. I also found out that Ronnie is half Japanese. We fooled around with the camera for a while after that with all of us making some silly poses for the camera. Eventually, we turned in after that.
April 29, 2001 - Sunday - Innisfail
We headed off early today and headed north again. We zoomed by Mission Beach before arriving at Innisfail. Ronnie and Primo decided that they wanted to go see a Crocodile Farm so I went along with it. I wasn't too thrilled with the idea at first, especially after seeing the big green OZ Experience bus right outside of it.

I hate snakes! - Innisfail - Queensland, Australia
I wasn't really in the mood to see caged animals and gators so I waited at the restaurant area. It was a nice breezy large domed hut with tropical foliage, orchids, and caged birds surrounding the area. After reading through the paper for a while and started working on my laptop, a large guy in a brown uniform stopped at the table to talk to me.

Mick and Margaret at the Croc Farm - Innisfail - Queensland, Australia
At first I thought he was going to give me trouble because I was just hanging out there. I guess I can blame that from spending way too much time with Americans back home. After talking to him for a few minutes, he turned out to be the owner of the place and was very friendly. We chatted for a while and he asked if I was with the 2 Swiss guys and I said yes.
I showed him some pictures I took around the place and his wife joined us at the table. His wife started asking me questions about computers and eventually, I ended up at their house and explained some of the computer issues she had, and installed a printer cartridge for her.

Afterward, we went back out and talked some more and Margaret gave me some free drinks and peanut butter sandwiches for lunch. Mick, the proprietor then proceeded on taking the 3 of us and gave us a private tour of the whole grounds. He was joking and laughing with us the entire time. It's just so nice to meet friendly people like that.

The chilling eye of a reptile - Innisfail - Queensland, Australia
We returned after an hour and then talked some more and they proceeded to let us try some croc kabobs and then gave us drinks before we left. We ended up staying 4 hours there and we left with such a good feeling in our hearts. We proceeded to head up north and eventually arrived in Cairns by 5.
Ronnie and Primo went to explore the esplanade while I went around looking for a place to stay. While I was on the phone calling a hostel, Matt and Joerg and Stephen walked up. We chatted briefly before I headed off again. Matt was complaining to me about what an idiot Joerg was and he said he couldn't wait to get away from him. Matt decided to head back to Sydney tomorrow because there are just tons of ads for cars for sale here. He's trying to sell his car, and Joerg is looking to buy a car, so he doesn't know why Joerg hasn't offered to buy his car. I think he's waiting for Matt to run out of time and drop his price since he has to sell his car in one week.
