Bermuda - Bermudiana - Sisyrinchium bermudiana

The Bermudiana (Sisyrinchium bermudiana) is an endemic plant of Bermuda, belonging to the Iris family. It's a perennial that blooms from April through June. The plant grows about a foot high (30cm) with small purple flowers about an inch (2.54cm) in diameter. The Bermudiana is Bermuda's "national flower". Well, it's not really the national flower because Bermuda is not a nation - it is a self-governed overseas territory of the United Kingdoms. The UK is responsible for Bermuda's defense and foreign affairs. It's also responsible for putting the face of an old lady on all the money here... I think she's the Queen or something...
