9/25/2009 – Carlsbad Caverns is huge! It has the 2nd largest cavern in the world that stretches 6 football fields (Largest is in Borneo Malaysia). I felt like I was on a SciFi movie set. In the evening, a few minutes before the sun sank below the horizon, hundreds of thousands of Mexican Free Tail bats fly out of the cavern to hunt for food. There were so many that you could hear them fluttering out of the cave in a massive gray cloud.
