Proboscis Bat (Rhynchonycteris naso)

The Proboscis Bats (Rhynchonycteris naso) roost very close to the water, often on tree trunks. The bats lined up one above another and vibrate in unison to mimic a snake when threatened. Each group consists of a single male and his harem of females. One landed on my mosquito net one night and proceeded to crawl across the net while my flashlight was shining on it.
