Porcupine Fish (Diodon holocanthus)

1/8/2010 – The Balloon Fish or Porcupine Fish (Diodon holocanthus) is distributed in the tropics and subtropics throughout the world. They prefer grassy flats, coral reefs, and mangrove areas. When threatened, it sucks water or air into its body, causing the dangerous spines to stick out at right angles from its body.
