Overall Goal
- To photograph and write a short a synopsis on nature and ecology features around the world to increase public interest in conservation.
- To showcase the great outdoors and beautiful natural environment around the world.
- To raise public awareness of various environmental issues.
- To travel on land and sea with minimum carbon footprint and cost.
- To provide a web site where people can use to see nature and outdoor activities offered at a location.
Goals and Itineraries
- To visit all the nature parks around the world and volunteer at various parks and nature preserves.
- To hike, bike, kayak and camp at every National Park in the USA and Canada, and select State and Provincial Parks.
USA / Canada Travels
Ideally, I would like to use a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), powered only by a fold-out solar array and battery power pack with a maximum range of 60+ miles a day every 3 days. In addition, using a portable wind turbine for generating additional power during windy / stormy conditions. The batteries can be recharged while camped or exploring the park. I know there are a few PHEVs out there right now but they are only for limited testing. I don't think this can be done right now with the technology available to consumers. If you know of any univeristy solar teams interested in making this possible, please let me know. As an alternative:
- Class B RV with solar panel upgrades and solar-supporting trailer OR
- Hybrid SUV towing a pop-up trailer with solar panel modifications

With a backpack and a daypack.

- Full Frame Digital Camera with 18-200mm Lens.
- Light-weight Laptop.
- Foldable Solar Panel to recharge gear.
